2% Ceriated Tungsten (TC2), Grey Tip

I was a bit skeptical about switching from thoriated, but these TC2 grey tips start the arc noticeably faster on my transformer rig. The lower amperage requirement makes welding thin sheet metal much more forgiving. Great for precision work without the radioactivity concerns.

Finally got the chance to test these on my transformer-based machine and the arc start is noticeably smoother than my old thoriated rods. The grey tip holds its point well even when welding thin sheet metal.

Had to switch from thoriated for a shop policy change, and this TC2 stuff runs just as smoothly on my old transformer machine for thin sheet work. The grey tip color makes it easy to spot in my drawer too.
