Finally got this fitted on my 17 series torch and the heat protection is night and day compared to running bare. The shield slides on snug over the stubby lens and doesn't budge even after a few long welds.

Installed this on my 26 series torch and it snugly wraps around the stubby lens configuration without any wobble. The heat dissipation is noticeably better, keeping the handle cool even during extended welding runs. Exactly what I needed for the 17 and 26 series air-cooled setups.

Finally, a heat shield that actually fits my 17 series torch with a stubby gas lens. It slides right on without any wrestling and keeps the cup cool even during longer welds. Glad I picked this up for my aluminum jobs.
